Great place to stay
"We stayed 2 nights at Pounds Farm B&B. What a gorgeous setting, beautiful garden, very clean and comfy, so peaceful, fresh milk here, no UHT, breakfast is a perfect start to the day and the Elliot's are so friendly and accommodating. If you can't stay at home this is the place to be. We will stay again"

Peace and Quiet
"My wife and I stayed for only one night at Pounds Farm. We left Reading at about 5.00 pm and arrived at the farm at about 7.40 pm to a very friendly welcome from Diana. She recommended the local pub for food and although busy they squeezed us in an hour later. It was a lovely 10 minute walk to the bottom of the hill and the food was excellent and good value too. Walking back up the hill in pitch black really makes you appreciate the simple things, no traffic noise and artificial lighting just total peace and quiet.
The farmhouse is lovely and you are made to feel very welcome. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The views from our window over the garden and down across the meadow to the pond just make you want to sell up and move here. We had the room with the bathroom across the landing which although not our first choice turned out to be absolutely fine as it was solely for our use. Nightgowns were very conveniently provided for crossing the landing but we never saw another soul on any of our ventures to the bathroom!
Freshly made Breakfast with local produce was excellent and set us up for a day visiting the coast at Sidmouth and what appeared to be every Garden Centre in Somerset and Devon! As a footnote, Jim e-mailed me with a list of the local Auction Houses that I had been asking about, so thank you very much and we both look forward to staying again!"Nick1404 - Wokingham - Trip Advisor
Special
"Pounds Farm is located on the outskirts of Hemyock in Devon. For someone wishing to explore the British countryside you can’t find a better location in which to base yourself. Besides exploring the village, I would recommend a day trip to Exmoor National Park if you are staying for the weekend.
A beautifully appointed home with real English charm – you will feel like you are staying somewhere special from the moment you arrive. Our room was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the gardens and surrounding countryside. Expect to wake up every morning feeling relaxed and refreshed. Bathrooms were large and meet all modern expectations. And don’t forget to check out the garden which you can tell a lot of work has gone into!
What really completes any experience in a B&B though is your hosts and Jim and Diana couldn’t possibly make you feel more welcome in their home. They also have great local knowledge of the surrounding area which is always a plus. Also I absolutely do have to mention the delicious breakfast you can expect with fresh local ingredients; the marmalade is superb.
Exceptional value. What an amazing experience – I can’t wait to return!"Mills_AU - Sydney, Australia- Trip Advisor
Just like staying with old friends
"A charming bed and breakfast hosted by a friendly owner. I was in the area for a birthday celebration and staying at Pounds farm was just like staying with old friends. The room was clean, comfortable, and just like I imagine a place in the country being with great views over the Devon countryside. Diana cooked a lovely breakfast and was very helpful with arrangements for my journey home."
